Hapcheon County Council Urges Resolution and Normalization of Hapcheon Cultural Center Situation
Urging the Cultural Center to Convene a General or Board Meeting
for Prompt Resolution of the Situation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam News Bureau, Reporter Choi Soonkyung] On July 27, the Hapcheon County Council issued a statement to the media urging a resolution and normalization of the situation at the Hapcheon Cultural Center.
In this statement, the council expressed that, due to the inappropriate remarks and behavior of the Cultural Center director, disciplinary action was taken by the Gyeongnam Cultural Centers Association, which damaged the reputation of the county and the honor of both local residents and those from outside the county. The council had expected the Cultural Center to resolve the issue internally, but this did not happen.
The council demanded that Cha Sewoon, director of the Hapcheon Cultural Center, recognize that this series of events originated from his own actions and take responsibility to resolve the situation himself.
The council also urged the Hapcheon Cultural Center to convene a general meeting or board meeting and resolve the situation promptly through democratic procedures.
The Hapcheon County Council stated that if the Cultural Center is not normalized in the near future, it will take special measures to restore normal operations, including exercising its authority to conduct administrative investigations and budget reviews.
