'The Flower of Festivals' Pouch Cocktails... Now Enjoyed at Convenience Stores Too
Convenience Store CU Launches Two Types of Cocktail Pouches
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] As we enter the With Corona era, the number of home bar enthusiasts who create a bar-like space at home to enjoy drinks is increasing, going beyond just home drinkers who simply enjoy alcohol at home.
To cater to consumers who enjoy home bars, CU announced on the 27th that it will launch ‘Pouch Mojito (2,500 won)’ and ‘Pouch Cosmopolitan (2,500 won)’, which can be conveniently enjoyed anywhere.
These products were planned to increase accessibility to cocktails, which are difficult to make at home due to the importance of mixing ratios and the many ingredients required for a single recipe.
The new Pouch Mojito features a refreshing and clean taste with a rum base combined with lemon, lime, and mint, while the Pouch Cosmopolitan offers a sweet flavor with a blend of vodka, cranberry, orange, and lime.
Both products are low-alcohol (7%) cocktails containing a small amount of alcohol, making them easy to enjoy even for those who do not usually drink, but purchase is restricted to those aged 19 and over. The package design was created by artists Kang Han and Kim Hye-rin.
Additionally, these products can be purchased together with imported beers included in the 4 cans for 10,000 won promotion, allowing customers to enjoy a variety of products at a reasonable price.

Lee Seung-taek, product planner (MD) of the Beverage Food Team at BGF Retail, said, “While home drinkers enjoy alcohol simply, home bar enthusiasts enjoy drinking as a hobby, so the types of alcohol they seek are much more diverse. Due to social distancing, we will continue to launch products that provide fresh enjoyment for customers looking for various activities at home.”
