Gasoline Prices 'Stagnate'... Nationwide Average 1361.1 Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Gasoline prices at gas stations nationwide have remained steady recently, influenced by the stable trend in international oil prices.
According to Opinet, the oil price information service of the Korea National Oil Corporation, the weekly gasoline retail price at gas stations nationwide in the fourth week of this month was 1,361.1 KRW per liter, up 0.3 KRW from the previous week. Diesel prices rose by 0.1 KRW to 1,163.3 KRW per liter. The industry views that gasoline prices have shown little change as international oil prices continue to remain stable without significant fluctuations.
In Seoul, where gasoline prices are the highest, the price increased by 1.4 KRW to 1,454.7 KRW per liter compared to last week, while in Daegu, the region with the lowest price, gasoline prices fell by 0.1 KRW to 1,337.3 KRW per liter.
By brand, the lowest gasoline price was at Altteul Gas Stations at 1,329.2 KRW per liter, and the highest was at SK Energy at 1,369.1 KRW per liter.

The Korea National Oil Corporation explained, "This week, international oil prices rose due to expectations of economic stimulus measures in the United States and the European Union, but have remained stable due to factors such as the estimated increase in Iraq's crude oil exports in July."
