According to Cheongju Cheongwon Police Station, at around 3:25 a.m. on the 24th, an SUV driving straight at an intersection in Cheongwon-gu, Cheongju City, collided with the driver's side of a taxi.
As a result of the accident, taxi driver Mr. A (44) was seriously injured and transported to the hospital but ultimately passed away.
The SUV driver, Mr. B (28), also sustained injuries to his neck and back and was taken to the hospital.
At the time, Mr. B was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.136%, which is above the level for license cancellation.
