2020 Korea International Machinery Expo Closes on the 24th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The "2020 Korea International Machinery Expo (KIMEX)" held at Changwon Convention Center (CECO) from the 21st to the 24th successfully concluded as a professional exhibition that showcased excellent technologies and products of the machinery industry and created new business opportunities.
The Korea Machinery Industry Promotion Association (Chairman Son Dong-yeon, hereinafter KMIPA) announced on the 24th that about 10,000 visitors attended the exhibition, which featured 115 companies from 12 countries. In particular, this exhibition provided an opportunity to directly experience cutting-edge trends applicable to the Digital New Deal era, such as metal processing machines, robot technology, and smart factories.
An official from the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute stated, "For the first time in a regional exhibition, the Digital New Deal special pavilion was operated, providing an opportunity to present a DNA strategy for the machinery manufacturing industry in the Gyeongnam region." Smart Cube, participating in KIMEX for the first time, attracted much attention from visitors by showcasing a platform that utilizes augmented reality without coding, and announced plans to consider continuous participation in KMIPA exhibitions in the future.

Along with conferences demonstrating recent digitalization trends, seminars related to machinery technology and corporate management strategies were also held. As the largest machinery exhibition in the southeastern region, the Korea International Machinery Expo played a leading role in machinery industry marketing and was evaluated as having presented a blueprint for the Digital New Deal. KMIPA plans to upgrade the online exhibition further in the next event and focus its capabilities on non-face-to-face marketing.
