Daegu City Reopens Sincheon-dong Road and Hasang Road... Residents Evacuate in Yeongdeok, Gyeongbuk Due to 'Heavy Rain'

According to Daegu City on the 24th, the 4.8 km section of Sincheon-dong Road (Chimsan Bridge to Dongsin Bridge) and the 800 m section of Sincheon Left Bank Lower Road (Dusan Bridge to Sangdong Bridge), which were closed from the previous night, reopened to traffic at 4:10 AM and 5:25 AM respectively on the 24th. Additionally, the 2.3 km section of Sincheon Left Bank Lower Road from Gachang Bridge to Beopwangsa also had its traffic restrictions lifted from 6:10 AM on the 24th.
In Daegu, the cumulative rainfall from the 22nd to the early morning of the 24th was 108.8 mm (measured in Hyomok-dong, Dong-gu), with the Gachang area in Dalseong-gun recording the highest at 193.5 mm.
In the Gyeongbuk region, heavy rain warnings remain in effect for Yeongdeok and Uljin, while heavy rain advisories are still active for Ulleungdo, Dokdo, and the northeastern mountainous areas.
According to the Gyeongbuk Provincial Disaster Situation Room on the 24th, between 3 and 4 AM, the area around Ganggu-myeon in Yeongdeok was flooded, causing 136 residents to evacuate to senior centers and village halls. In Opori, Ganggu-myeon, a 47-year-old woman driving a car was trapped inside due to flooding around 2:09 AM but was safely rescued by the 119 rescue team.
A Daegu Regional Meteorological Office official stated, "In Uljin and Yeongdeok, very heavy rain accompanied by gusts, thunder, and lightning is expected to continue with hourly rainfall of 30 to 50 mm until the 25th," urging special caution.

Meanwhile, according to data collected by Automatic Weather Stations (AWS), the cumulative rainfall by area in Gyeongbuk is as follows: Uljin 228.3 mm, Mungyeong 158.4 mm, Gyeongju 144 mm, Gyeongju Gampo 165 mm, Yeongju 128.9 mm, Yeongyang Subi 85.5 mm, Chilgok 63.5 mm, Sangju 104 mm, Cheongsong 103.5 mm, Pohang 114.8 mm, Pohang Cheongha 183.5 mm, Gimcheon 61 mm, Gyeongsan 75 mm, and Goryeong 173 mm.
