In particular, the driver drew public outrage for inappropriate handling, such as lifting the fallen child immediately after the accident.
On the 22nd, a post titled "I am Ha-eun's father. Please help" was uploaded on the online community 'Bobae Dream.'
The writer, identified as the father of the victim child, Mr. A, said, "On July 3rd, our baby was involved in an accident in the school zone," and added, "The perpetrator is being investigated without a single apology."
Mr. A said, "Currently, my daughter is hospitalized in a hospital in Ansan, receiving treatment for a pelvic fracture and knee suture surgery, with a recovery period of 10 weeks," and appealed, "I hope this accident becomes an issue with your help so that the perpetrator receives proper punishment. Please help."
Along with this, Mr. A released CCTV footage capturing the situation at the time of the accident.
The CCTV footage filmed on the afternoon of the 3rd shows an SUV colliding with a girl crossing an alley. The girl, who was trying to cross the road, noticed the approaching vehicle too late and could not avoid the collision.
However, even after hitting the child, the driver seemed unaware of the accident and continued driving. During this process, the vehicle’s right front and rear wheels ran over the child consecutively. The driver stopped the vehicle only after driving a few more meters, and the child who was run over was motionless.
Despite concerns about additional injuries, the driver who got out of the car lifted the fallen child two or three times. The child was completely limp and showed no response.
