Songpa-gu Talent Development Scholarship Foundation Awards 88 Million KRW to 76 High School and University Students
2020 1st Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony Held...Support Scale Doubled Compared to Previous Year to Share Hope for Overcoming COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Songpa-gu Talent Development Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Moon Yun-hwan) held the 2020 1st Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony at 5 p.m. on the 23rd at the Songpa-gu Office.
The selection of scholarship recipients was conducted from May 29 to June 9 through recommendations from neighborhood chiefs and school principals within the district, and was finalized after review by the foundation's board of directors.
To support students from families facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation doubled the scale of support compared to the previous year, ultimately selecting 76 students: 46 high school students (each receiving 1 million KRW) and 30 university students (each receiving up to 2 million KRW), distributing a total of 88 million KRW in scholarships.
Established in 1994, the Songpa-gu Talent Development Scholarship Foundation has supported a total of 2,387 students with 2.2 billion KRW to date.
The scholarship certificate award ceremony was conducted with strict COVID-19 infection prevention measures, allowing attendance only to students who wished to participate.
