[Golf Topic] PGA Tour Allows Guest Entry "Change in No-Audience Policy?"
[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…The U.S. Professional Golf (PGA) Tour will allow 'guests' to attend.
Golf Digest USA reported on the 23rd (Korean time) that "the PGA Tour will allow 50 spectators per day at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, part of the World Golf Championships (WGC) series, starting on the 31st." This signals a change from the previously maintained no-spectator policy. It is not open to the general gallery but only to guests invited by the tournament's sponsor companies in a limited capacity. This also includes people specially invited by participating players, such as players' wives.

The PGA Tour has confirmed that it sent an email containing this plan to the players. Due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the tournament was suspended immediately after the first round of The Players Championship, known as the 'fifth major,' in March, but resumed in June, with the current season planned to be held without spectators. Invited guests can enter the golf course without undergoing a COVID-19 test. However, they must undergo a temperature check and complete a health questionnaire.
