BTS Adds Guinness World Record with 'Bang Bang Con' Watched by 750,000 Viewers Worldwide
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] BTS's online concert 'BangBangCon The Live' (hereafter BangBangCon) has set a Guinness World Record for the highest number of viewers for a live streaming concert.
The Guinness World Records announced on the 22nd (local time) through their website that "BTS has set a new Guinness World Record for the live streaming music concert with the most viewers."
'BangBangCon' was BTS's first paid online concert held on the 14th of the previous month.
The members performed 12 songs over approximately 100 minutes. Fans worldwide watched BangBangCon via live broadcast.
According to the tally, a maximum of about 756,000 viewers from over 100 countries connected simultaneously.
The agency Big Hit Entertainment explained, "It is the largest scale among paid online concerts held worldwide."
Meanwhile, BTS holds several Guinness records, including being the first Korean artist to top the US album charts and having the highest album sales in Korea.
