Gwangju Human Resources Development Committee Selected as Excellent Institution for 2 Consecutive Years
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Regional Human Resources Development Committee (Co-Chairmen Choi Jong-man, Executive Vice President of Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Jo In-cheol, Deputy Mayor of Culture and Economy of Gwangju Metropolitan City) announced on the 23rd that it was selected as an excellent institution for two consecutive years in the 2019 National Regional HRD Committee Performance Evaluation.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea review the business performance of 16 regional human resources development committees annually and select outstanding committees based on the evaluation.
This evaluation assessed the 2019 business performance of 16 regional HRD committees nationwide based on indicators such as committee operation, supply and demand survey analysis, region- and industry-customized workforce training project performance, networking, and organizational management.
The Gwangju HRD Committee received an overall grade of A in the performance evaluation, maintaining its integrated review authority for the second consecutive year.
Outstanding institutions are granted the privilege of unifying the authority for reviewing regional workforce development plans, which is conducted in two stages: regional HRD committee and the headquarters review of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, into the regional HRD committee.
Choi Jong-man, Chairman of the Gwangju Regional Human Resources Development Committee, said, “I believe this is the result of the efforts and concerns of institutions and officials linked to the Gwangju HRD Committee to resolve job mismatches and create jobs.” He added, “While other regions have experienced sluggish performance due to COVID-19 this year, the Gwangju HRD Committee has achieved results similar to previous years in the first half and is expected to surpass last year’s performance in the second half.”
