Kim Jae-ryeon, the victim's legal representative, said in an interview with the press on the afternoon of the 22nd, "I told them that the accused was the late former Mayor Park because they said they could not have a meeting without knowing." When asked about the initial time of the phone call with the prosecution, Kim answered it was between 2:00 and 2:30 p.m. on the 7th.
Earlier, in a second press conference held at an undisclosed location in Seoul that morning, Kim stated that she had requested a meeting with the head of the Women and Children Crime Investigation Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office a day before submitting the complaint to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, revealing that the victim had been sexually harassed by former Mayor Park.
At the press conference, Kim explained, "I requested a meeting with the head of the Women and Children Crime Investigation Division at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, but I only received a general response that a meeting before submitting the complaint was difficult." She added, "I requested a meeting because the victim's testimony was necessary to secure evidence, and they said they needed to confirm who the accused was to consider the meeting, so I disclosed the accused." She further noted that the victim was scheduled to meet the division chief at 3 p.m. on the 8th, but the meeting was canceled by the division chief's side on the evening of the 7th due to scheduling reasons.

Kim said, "Since it seemed inappropriate to file a complaint with the Central District Prosecutors' Office under these circumstances, I contacted the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency," adding, "I was informed that direct investigations are possible for cases involving women, children, intellectually disabled persons, and high-ranking public officials, so I planned to submit the complaint as a case involving a high-ranking public official and requested that the investigation proceed immediately." She continued, "With the complaint and evidence in hand, the victim and I went to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and were investigated until dawn the next day."
