New Confirmed Cases 63... 28 Cases in the Seoul Metropolitan Area (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 63 on the 22nd.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that as of midnight on that day, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose by 63 from the previous day’s midnight to 13,879.
The daily new confirmed cases fluctuated between 30 and 60 since the beginning of this month, dropped to the 20s on the 21st, then rose again to the 40s the previous day, and to the 60s on this day.
Among the 63 newly confirmed cases, 29 were locally transmitted and 34 were imported. For local transmissions, there were 16 in Seoul, 8 in Gyeonggi, 4 in Incheon, and 1 in Gwangju.
Of the 34 imported cases, 19 were detected during quarantine. The remaining 15 tested positive while in self-isolation at their local residences or temporary living facilities.
