What Are the Top Domestic Vacation and Travel Spots Analyzed by Big Data?
Shinhan Card Launches Nationwide Win-Win Project Hero Part 2, 'Yeogitteuljido' Opened
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card announced on the 22nd that it has launched a regional economic revitalization program called ‘Yeogitteuljido,’ which introduces vacation travel spots in a serial format by utilizing big data capabilities.
Yeogitteuljido was created with the purpose of revitalizing the local economy by discovering unique healing spots, rather than traditional tourist areas crowded with tourists, and introducing them on Instagram, in anticipation of the upcoming summer vacation season when domestic travel is expected to be preferred.
Yeogitteuljido collaborated with travel writers active on Instagram channels and conducted on-site coverage in five cities nationwide, starting with Daegu, followed by Danyang, Goseong, Namwon, and Namhae. Vivid photos and articles will be released sequentially every week, providing useful travel guides for customers considering domestic summer travel.
In particular, among the spots in each region, restaurants and cafes were selected by analyzing franchise stores visited by non-residents in the area through Shinhan Card Big Data Research Institute, based on the number of uses, transaction amounts, year-on-year usage increase or decrease rates, and social network services (SNS). Outdoor tourist spots without payment data were selected based on recommendations from travel writers who personally experienced them or places frequently mentioned with hashtags on Instagram and other platforms.
Shinhan Card plans to complete the regional travel map together with customers by encouraging voluntary participation from citizens, small business owners, and local governments, and if there is high demand, it will also conduct ‘Yeogitteuljido - Season 2’ using Shinhan Card’s big data in the future.
An Instagram account opening event has also been prepared. Until August 7, those who follow Yeogitteuljido on Instagram and participate by commenting will receive generous prizes such as Polaroids and shaved ice.
Meanwhile, this program is the second activity of the Hero Project, which is conducting a regional win-win Hero (Here:路) Project nationwide from Euljiro (路) to Daeguro (路), connecting small business owners and customers amid the unprecedented disaster situation caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
