The promotional materials convey the police's determination to apprehend perpetrators of illegal filming and theft crimes.
On the 22nd, the Busan Haeundae Police Station announced that these promotional materials were installed to inform that Haeundae Beach, the most visited domestic tourist spot during the vacation season, is a safe destination through crime prevention.
The approximately 2-meter-tall Podori sculpture was created in collaboration with the Busan police, with talent donations from students of the Korea Sculpture Arts High School.
The sculpture was designed to help prevent COVID-19 by informing foreigners of the mask-wearing obligation at the vacation spot, featuring a large mask embroidered with the phrase ‘Please, wear a mask’ and providing location information for the Haeundae Summer Police Station.
The promotional panel raises awareness about various crimes that can occur at summer vacation spots, such as illegal filming and theft targeting vacationers.
The panel depicts a criminal’s wrist handcuffed, with phrases like ‘Click (illegal filming crime)’ followed by ‘Clank’, and ‘Slip (theft crime)’ followed by ‘Clank’. This visualizes that offenders will be apprehended by the police, expressing the police’s determination to catch criminals involved in common vacation spot crimes.
Additionally, English phrases such as ‘No Photos Without Consent!’ and ‘No Stealing!’ are displayed to ensure foreigners understand the message.
A police official stated, “We will secure a safe vacation spot so that tourists visiting the beach can enjoy a safe and pleasant vacation.”
