[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] On the 21st, the day an impeachment motion against Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae was submitted, she was spotted viewing documents related to Kim Gun-hee, the spouse of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl, in the National Assembly plenary session hall.
Since her appointment as Minister of Justice, Minister Chu has shown conflict with Prosecutor General Yoon over contentious issues such as the so-called 'prosecutor-media collusion suspicion.' This has drawn attention to the background of her viewing the documents in the plenary session hall.
Minister Chu displayed the documents on her mobile phone and zoomed in to read the materials. Photos captured by a media outlet's camera show words like '○○○Contents (Kim Gun-hee's company)' and 'after payment.'
There were also contents such as 'Received a sale request from a construction company, sale failed due to opposition from Mr. ○' and 'Interest arrears occurred on a loan of ○ billion won from a savings bank.'

Meanwhile, Minister Chu attended the plenary session that morning and directly heard the report on the impeachment motion submitted the previous day (the 20th) by the United Future Party and the People's Party.
When National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seok said, "The United Future Party and the People's Party have submitted an impeachment motion against Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae to the National Assembly," Minister Chu smiled.
The day before, the United Future Party and the People's Party jointly submitted the impeachment motion to the National Assembly, alleging that Minister Chu abused her authority, violated the law, damaged dignity, and undermined the independence of investigations. Accordingly, the content was reported at the plenary session today (the 21st), and a vote is scheduled for the 24th.
The likelihood of the impeachment motion passing in the plenary session is slim, as it requires the approval of a majority of the total members.
For the impeachment motion to pass, the Democratic Party of Korea, which holds the majority of seats in the National Assembly (176 seats), must express support. For this reason, political circles both inside and outside view it as practically impossible.

Meanwhile, Minister Chu wrote on her Facebook on the same day, "I have been named the protagonist of 'persecution,' and today the impeachment motion was submitted," adding, "I will focus solely on fairness and justice as I do now."
This is interpreted as her determination to carry out her duties as Minister of Justice without wavering despite pressure from opposition parties. Minister Chu has also expressed her resolve in her Facebook introduction phrase: "Rather than being bamboo that bends and withstands the wind, I will live as an oak tree that breaks in the wind!" indicating her commitment to principled actions.
On the same day (the 21st), Minister Chu also expressed her views on real estate issues. In a post on her Facebook, she stated, "The economic system where real estate mortgages the lives of ordinary people was created long ago by construction capital forces," and emphasized, "It was not created by the Moon Jae-in administration's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport."

She added, "We are well aware of the real estate success stories where people initially bid on auctioned real estate with a few hundred million won, took out loans from savings banks using that real estate as collateral to pay the balance, made tens of billions in capital gains, and then sold it as apartment development land," and evaluated, "Those who envy this and those who have participated or want to participate in this group would not want apartment prices to fall."
