[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will operate the ‘2021 College Admission Support Program’ for local high school students and their parents from July 28 to August 8 to assist examinees in establishing their college entrance strategies.

This program is designed to provide college admission information to local high school students and will include ‘Admissions Officer Special Lectures,’ ‘Early Admission and Junior College Admission Briefings,’ and ‘1:1 Expert Admission Consulting’ from 10 universities in Seoul and the metropolitan area.

The ‘Admissions Officer Special Lectures’ will be held from July 28 to 30, from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Geumcheon-gu Office auditorium. To prevent COVID-19, each session will be limited to 50 participants, and admission materials from each university will be distributed to attendees.

The ‘Early Admission and Junior College Admission Briefings’ will be conducted online in real-time on August 7 from 7 PM to 9:30 PM, and the ‘1:1 Expert Admission Consulting’ will take place on August 8 from 9 AM to 4 PM in the lifelong learning center lecture rooms at Geumcheon-gu Office, with each student receiving about 50 minutes of consultation in pairs.

Meanwhile, due to concerns about the local spread of COVID-19, the ‘Admissions Officer Special Lectures’ and ‘Early Admission and Junior College Admission Briefings’ will be recorded and uploaded to the Geumcheon-gu Office YouTube account for residents who cannot attend in person.

High school students and parents who wish to participate in the program can apply through the bulletin board on the ‘Geumcheon-gu College Admission Support Program’ online site.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon stated, “Although there are difficulties in holding the event due to concerns about the local spread of the COVID-19 virus, we will actively support local high school students and parents by providing accurate information on the annually changing college admission system so that they can establish admission strategies that suit them.”
