Gimhae City Holds Population Policy 'Citizen Forum' ... Reflected in Gyeongnam Research Institute's Basic Plan
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 20th that it held the '2nd Gimhae City Population Policy Citizen Forum' at the city hall's main conference room, attended by about 40 members of the Population Policy Citizen Participation Group, to establish and implement population policies that citizens can empathize with.
This event was organized to reflect various opinions of citizens and to find population policy tasks that citizens can feel, as Gimhae City, together with the Gyeongnam Research Institute, is proactively responding to demographic changes caused by low birth rates and aging by formulating the '2035 Gimhae City Population Policy Basic Plan.'
In particular, as a continuation of the 1st citizen forum held on June 13, this forum aimed to reach consensus and derive population policies by sector proposed by the citizen participation group during the previous forum, tailored to Gimhae City's conditions.
The forum was divided into five sectors: ▲Marriage and childbirth ▲Childcare and education ▲Housing and residential conditions ▲Jobs ▲Population aging. At each table, participants freely shared opinions and discussed under the facilitation of a facilitator, deriving sector-specific strategies and key policies.
During the two-hour forum, diverse and realistic opinions were presented, and each proposal will be carefully reviewed by the relevant departments and reflected in the formulation of the 2035 Gimhae City Population Policy Basic Plan.
