Gyeongbuk Province Hosts Exhibition of Award-Winning Photos from 'Cultural Heritage' Contest
161 Works Exhibited at Gimcheon Culture and Arts Center from 20th to 26th

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 19th that it will hold an exhibition of winning works (161 pieces) from the '47th Gyeongbuk Province Photography Contest' and the '23rd Gyeongbuk Province Cultural Heritage National Photography Contest' at the Gimcheon Culture and Arts Center from the 20th to the 26th.
In the 'Gyeongbuk Province Photography Contest,' a total of 81 works won awards, including 1 Grand Prize, 2 Excellence Awards, 8 Special Selections, 69 Selected Works, and 1 Invited Artist Award. The Grand Prize, the highest award, was awarded to Kwon Young-il (Pohang), and the Excellence Awards went to Park Yong-duk (Gumi) and Jeong Kwang-soo (Pohang).
In the 'Gyeongbuk Province Cultural Heritage National Photography Contest,' 80 works won awards, including 1 Gold Prize, 2 Silver Prizes, 3 Bronze Prizes, 2 Special Awards, 5 Honorable Mentions, and 67 Selected Works. The highest award, the Gold Prize, was awarded to Kim So-yeon (Gumi), and the Silver Prizes went to Kim Tae-gyu (Daegu) and Lee Seong-guk (Pohang), respectively.
Jung Chang-myeong, Director of the Culture and Arts Division of Gyeongsangbuk-do, said, "Despite the difficulties caused by COVID-19, the participation of many photographers showed that this contest plays a pivotal role in the development of photographic arts and the discovery and nurturing of local photographers." He added, "We will continue to do our best to create a cultural and artistic space that communicates and empathizes."
