34 New COVID-19 Cases... 30s for Two Consecutive Days

View original imageThe Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, the number of new domestic COVID-19 confirmed cases increased by 34. The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 13,745. The daily new confirmed cases in the past week ranged between 30 and 60.
Looking at the infection routes of the new confirmed cases, 21 were locally transmitted, which is more than the 13 imported cases. While imported cases decreased, local infections increased mainly in Gwangju and Seoul, surpassing imported cases for the first time in 8 days.
It has been 8 days since the number of locally transmitted confirmed cases exceeded imported cases, last occurring on the 11th. Among local cases, Seoul and Gwangju each reported 10 cases, and 1 case was reported in Daejeon.
In Gwangju, 9 people who had gatherings with a confirmed case from Songpa-gu were simultaneously confirmed positive. Siblings attending Gyesu Elementary School also tested positive. In Seoul, a family member of an insurance planner at the Hanwha Life Myeongdong branch was additionally confirmed.
Among the imported confirmed cases, 7 were identified during quarantine processes at airports and ports, and the remaining 6 tested positive while in self-quarantine at temporary living facilities in Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Jeju.
