"Catch the Summer Vacationers"... Lotte Department Store Hosts 'Barrel' Pop-up Store
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Lotte Department Store announced on the 19th that it will hold a ‘Barrel’ pop-up store for customers planning domestic travel and homecations during the summer vacation season.
The event will be held from the 20th to August 6th on the basement 1st floor of the main store, covering approximately 228㎡ (69 pyeong), showcasing swimwear and rash guards for travel, as well as fitness and lifestyle wear for homecation and hotelcation customers all in one place.
Barrel is a representative Korean water sports brand that has been widely introducing rash guards, which were once unfamiliar, to domestic consumers since its launch in Korea in 2014. In March 2015, it entered Lotte Department Store’s first-ever department store select shop ‘Fitness Square,’ and subsequently opened stores in Yeongdeungpo and Suwon, achieving steady growth of over 15% annually. Currently, it operates a total of 17 stores, including 11 department stores such as the main store and Jamsil branch, and 6 outlet stores including the premium outlets in Paju and Giheung.
To welcome the full-fledged vacation season, Lotte Department Store has prepared a pop-up store where customers can find the entire Barrel line in one place. It offers a variety of water sportswear such as rash guards and board shorts, essential for the beach, as well as athleisure looks that can be used beyond yoga and Pilates in daily life. The store also features Barrel Holiday looks made of linen and mesh materials suitable for wearing at resorts, and a sun care cosmetic line, providing all products needed for vacation without any restrictions on form.
Various exclusive discount products are also prepared. Aqua shoes (1+1) priced at 20,000 KRW, which can be worn lightly not only for water play but also in daily life, and Barrel Fit Easy Leggings priced at 31,200 KRW, recently sold out after being worn by Barrel’s muse ‘Han So-hee.’

Meanwhile, Barrel is recently recognized as a leading sportswear brand preferred by surfers. Accordingly, in addition to the pop-up store, Barrel plans to operate the Barrel Surf School in Yangyang, a surfing mecca.
