'Family-Friendly Certification' is a system in which the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family grants certification to companies and institutions that exemplary operate support for childbirth and child-rearing, flexible working hours, and more. As of the end of last year, there are 127 family-friendly certified companies and institutions in Gyeongbuk Province (12 large companies, 61 SMEs, 54 public institutions).
This contest is divided into three areas: family-friendly certified company environment improvement project, family-friendly program support project, and family-friendly certified company cultural experience support project.
First, through the environment improvement project, family-friendly certified SMEs in the province (including newly applied companies in 2020) will be supported with up to 20 million KRW per company for family-friendly environment improvement costs (with a 10% self-payment of the subsidy). Twenty companies will be selected through the contest by August 14, and support will be provided for new construction and renovation costs of rest areas, health promotion spaces, care spaces, lodging and hygiene spaces, etc., for the selected SMEs.
Through the 'Family-Friendly Program Support,' family-friendly certified SMEs will be selected by reviewing family-friendly programs submitted by the 30th, selecting about 20 companies, and supporting up to 5 million KRW per company for program operation costs.
Through the 'Cultural Experience Support Project,' applications will be accepted until the 30th from workers of family-friendly certified SMEs, and cultural experience programs such as lodging at traditional houses will be supported for the families of 140 workers on a first-come, first-served basis (based on 4 persons per family).
