[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] It has been confirmed that Im Sun-young, Seoul City's Gender Special Advisor and a key figure suspected of leaking the fact that the late Mayor Park Won-soon was accused of sexual harassment, has submitted her resignation.
On the 17th, Seoul City revealed that Im, who was identified as the person who first learned of the sexual harassment accusation against former Mayor Park and conveyed it to him, had gone into hiding after the funeral and submitted her resignation the day before. Im's term was set to last until January 14 of next year.
She took a leave of absence on the 14th, briefly came to the city hall on the 15th but left early, and also took leave and did not come to work on the 16th.
Im is a subject of investigation by the 'Public-Private Joint Investigation Team' formed by Seoul City regarding the sexual harassment allegations against the former mayor's secretary. If Im officially leaves Seoul City, it may be difficult for the investigation team to summon her and uncover the facts.
A city official stated, "Although Im has submitted her resignation, since she is an important subject of the investigation, we plan not to accept her resignation for the time being."
