Yeosu City Expands Partnership Businesses for Elderly Bathing Rights in Island Areas
Available for use at all bathhouses in the district from this month until December 15

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) has expanded the island area elderly bathing fee support project, which is being promoted to improve the health of elderly residents in island areas, to be usable at all bathhouses within the jurisdiction.
Considering the accessibility and convenience for the elderly, Yeosu City announced on the 16th that from this month, the usage locations have been expanded from the previous 7 places to all 78 bathhouses of the Jeollanam-do branch of the Korea Bathhouse Association Yeosu branch through an agreement.
The island area elderly bathing fee support project is a campaign pledge by Mayor Kwon Oh-bong of Yeosu City, providing bathing fees since October last year to about 2,000 elderly residents aged 70 or older in island areas.
Elderly residents aged 70 or older who have their resident registration in Nam-myeon, Hwajeong-myeon, or Samsan-myeon can apply for bathing fees at their respective township offices, and retroactive applications are not accepted.
One bathing ticket per month is issued quarterly and can be freely used at all bathhouses within the jurisdiction until December 15. However, residents of Ri areas where public bathhouses are installed, residents of social welfare facilities or long-term care facilities, and those receiving overlapping services are excluded from eligibility.

A city official stated, “We have increased the usage locations so that elderly residents can conveniently use bathing tickets for hygiene management and health promotion,” and added, “We will continue to implement policies that provide practical help to elderly residents in island areas who are vulnerable to welfare benefits.”
