Pohang City to Launch New Gimpo and Jeju Routes ... Jin Air Scheduled to Commence Service
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] Pohang City, Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 16th that Pohang Airport, which had been suspended since February due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), will newly establish Gimpo-Pohang and Pohang-Jeju routes.
Before the launch, Pohang City plans to hold a business agreement ceremony on the 20th with Gyeongsangbuk-do, Pohang City, Gyeongju City, and Jin Air, aiming for the launch on July 31.
The aircraft to be operated this time is a B737-800 (189 seats), and the current fare is undergoing government approval procedures and is expected to be about 70-80% of Korean Air's fare.
Various events will be held initially to attract passengers.

Lee Kang-deok, Mayor of Pohang City, said, “Through this Jin Air launch, air transportation for local residents will be dramatically improved, and it is expected to play a significant role in attracting tourists from the metropolitan area, who cannot travel abroad, to the East Coast area of Gyeongbuk.”
