Japan's COVID-19 Spread Continues... Tokyo Reports Highest Daily New Cases at 280+

According to the report, Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo, stated that the number of new COVID-19 cases on that day was about 280. This figure surpasses the previous daily record increase of 243 cases recorded on the 10th.
In the past week up to that day, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Tokyo reached approximately 1,360. The Asahi Shimbun reported that the number of infections in the metropolitan area exceeded 100 for seven consecutive days until the previous day.

Governor Koike raised the alert level regarding COVID-19 infections to the highest level 4, indicating "the infection is spreading," the day before; however, the virus spread has not subsided. On the previous day, 450 new confirmed cases were identified nationwide in Japan, bringing the cumulative total to 23,747 cases.
