Tmon, 5,000 Participants Join National Campaign for Korean War Fallen Soldiers' Remains Excavation Project
Expectations for Activation of Non-Face-to-Face Bereaved Family Sample Collection and Expansion of Public Consensus through Social Donation Achievements
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] TMON (CEO Lee Jin-won) collaborated with the Ministry of National Defense's Remains Excavation and Identification Team (hereafter referred to as the National Identification Team) to conduct a 'social donation' campaign, contributing to the activation of finding families of fallen soldiers from the Korean War through non-face-to-face sample collection and spreading public consensus.
According to TMON on the 16th, a total of 4,995 customers participated in the social donation campaign held for two weeks from June 25 to July 8. Among them, more than 700 customers who sympathized with the purpose of the project shared the campaign on their personal SNS, garnering support. This social donation campaign, conducted through collaboration between TMON and the National Identification Team, was carried out to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Korean War by allowing people to apply online for genetic sample collection kits or to promote the campaign widely.
Among the social donation participants, 294 customers applied for genetic sample collection. The National Identification Team plans to contact these participants separately in July to verify family information and send out the sample collection kits. Additional benefits are provided to customers who participate in collecting genetic samples from the families of the fallen soldiers. All participants who provide genetic samples will receive a mobile gift certificate worth 10,000 KRW, and among them, those whose DNA is registered with the Ministry of National Defense for the first time will receive a reward of 100,000 KRW. Furthermore, if the identity of a Korean War fallen soldier is confirmed through the collected samples, a reward of up to 10 million KRW will also be provided.
