'43 Years of Research Technology' Premium Functional Fermented Milk... Purmil Launches ProBio
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Dairy specialist Purmil announced on the 16th that it has launched a premium functional fermented milk product, ‘ProBio,’ containing 43 years of fermented milk research technology and CJ CheilJedang’s patented probiotics.
‘Purmil ProBio’ contains CJ CheilJedang’s proprietary patented probiotic strain ‘CJLP243,’ which helps sensitive and bloated intestines. The ‘CJLP243,’ developed with a focus on the intestinal health of Koreans, features excellent survivability reaching the intestines and strong adhesion to intestinal epithelial cells, thanks to its quadruple coating technology. Additionally, only superior functional strains were extracted and cultured through consumer health research for immune enhancement in modern people and plant-derived probiotic research.
Koreans generally have longer intestines compared to Westerners, and strong vitality of probiotics is important to survive until the end of the long intestines. ‘CJLP243’ has strong vitality that endures highly acidic stomach acid and survives until the end of the intestines. It contains synbiotic project ingredients, including beneficial probiotics good for intestinal health and prebiotics (oligosaccharides, dietary fiber) known to help probiotics settle in the intestines by serving as nutrients for probiotics.
Probiotics refer to microorganisms beneficial to the human body, and research results showing that continuous intake helps intestinal health, skin beauty, and immune enhancement have been attracting consumer attention. According to the Korea Health Functional Food Association, the domestic probiotics market size increased by 18.8% in one year, from 545.2 billion KRW in 2018 to 644.4 billion KRW in 2019. Multiple studies have revealed that intestinal microorganisms help boost immunity.
ProBio is available in two types: plain and apple, allowing consumers to choose according to their preference, and it can be enjoyed deliciously by people of all ages and genders.
A Purmil official said, “We focused on the rapidly growing probiotics market and the increasing health interest of the 2030 generation,” adding, “Since intestinal health affects the entire body, it requires management, and we hope people maintain their health and receive benefits by conveniently consuming probiotics through ‘ProBio.’”
