The Jeju Provincial Police Agency announced that A (63), who was reported missing on the 9th, was found dead around 12:50 p.m. on the 15th in a rock crevice at the bottom of Eongtto Waterfall in Gangjeong-dong, Seogwipo City.
According to the police, A arrived in Jeju on the 7th for a trip with his wife and mother-in-law and stayed at his sister-in-law’s house in Seoho-dong, Seogwipo City.
The next day, on the 8th, A drank with a friend living in Jeju at a restaurant in Seogwipo city in the afternoon, then took a taxi and got off near his accommodation around 10:14 p.m.
CCTV footage from a nearby clean house showed A getting off the taxi and heading toward the accommodation along a mountain path.
When A did not return and lost contact until the next day, his wife reported him missing to the police around 3 p.m. on the 9th.
Eongtto Waterfall, where A was found, was the last location where his mobile phone’s base station signal was detected.
The police have been conducting a search for A using all available personnel.
