Gwangju Shinsegae Donates 10 Million Won to Help Neighbors in Need
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Dong-hoon) has donated 10 million won to support underprivileged families.
Gwangju Shinsegae announced on the 15th that it delivered the donation to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea to support underprivileged families in the area.
The donation will be used to provide fans to 250 families selected based on recommendations from 18 neighborhoods in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, to prepare for the upcoming heatwave.
Gwangju Shinsegae will hold a charity bazaar at the first-floor event hall throughout this month and donate part of the proceeds.
The donation ceremony held at the Seo-gu Office was attended by Seo Dae-seok, head of Seo-gu Office, Kim Jae-gyu, chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, Lee Dong-hoon, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, and Park In-cheol, managing director of Gwangju Shinsegae, among others.
Lee Dong-hoon, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, said, “This year, summer is more than twice as difficult as other years due to COVID-19,” and added, “We hope that our underprivileged neighbors will not suffer any damage from COVID-19.”

Meanwhile, Gwangju Shinsegae has supported emergency relief supplies costs through the Gwangju Youth Center in April for local underprivileged groups, provided play kit costs for children in vulnerable families in May, and last month, delivered treatment expenses for pediatric cancer patients.
