[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Wemakeprice announced on the 15th that sales of cooling products and nutritional supplements for pets have significantly increased compared to the same period last year, based on an analysis of pet product sales over the past two weeks.
Cooling mats, which help pets that have difficulty regulating their body temperature cool down, saw a 9.5-fold (851%) surge in sales. Summer clothes made of cool materials increased 4.1 times (312%) in sales. Pet life jackets, essential for water play, rose 3.3 times (233%). Due to the early heatwave, demand for indoor cooling products and vacation items has grown faster than last year.
Sales of nutritional supplements to boost pets' energy also increased 2.5 times (152%). Among the supplement categories, digestive function-related products ranked high in sales. Along with supplements, sales of soft wet food increased more than fourfold (309%). Lee Ruri, team leader of Wemakeprice's pet team, explained, "This year, sales of products related to pets' physical recovery, such as wet food, wet snacks, and supplements, have been steadily increasing."
