Russia Reports Over 6,000 New COVID-19 Cases for 18 Consecutive Days... Total Reaches 730,000
[Asia Economy Reporter Son Seon-hee] Russia's daily new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have remained in the 6,000 range for 18 consecutive days, as reported on the 13th (local time). The cumulative number of confirmed cases has surpassed 730,000.
According to Yonhap News on the day, the Russian government stated, "In the past 24 hours, 6,537 new infections were reported across 84 regions nationwide, including Moscow, bringing the total confirmed cases to 733,699."
Russia, which once peaked at daily new confirmed cases of 11,000 in early May, has since shown a gradual decline. However, since recording about 6,800 cases on the 26th of last month, the downward trend has not continued.
On the same day, Moscow alone reported 672 new confirmed cases, bringing the cumulative total to 230,029.
