Seoul Gangseo Sarang Gift Certificates Issued Additional 7 Billion Won
Additional Issuance of 7 Billion Won from the 16th, 7% Discount Purchase Benefit... Usable at Over 12,000 ZeroPay Merchants in the Region
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) will issue additional ‘Seoul Gangseo Love Gift Certificates’ as a measure to support the local economy and overcome the damage caused by COVID-19.
The Gangseo Love Gift Certificates, issued on April 1 with a scale of 5 billion KRW, were sold out early within 8 days thanks to the enthusiastic response from residents.
Accordingly, an additional 7 billion KRW will be issued starting July 16, and they can be purchased at a 7% discount (up to 1 million KRW per person per month). However, from August, the discounted purchase limit will be reduced to 700,000 KRW per person per month.
Anyone can purchase and pay for the gift certificates through a smartphone mobile app.
The dedicated apps for the gift certificates are ▲Cocoon CheckPay ▲Beeple ZeroPay ▲Moneytree ▲Fint ▲Payco ▲Fink ▲T-money Pay (opening on 7/19) ▲NongHyup All One Bank ▲Gyeongnam Bank BNK ▲Busan Bank Sum Bank ▲Daegu Bank IM Shop ▲Gwangju Bank Personal Banking ▲Jeonbuk Bank New Smart Banking.
Payments can be made by scanning the QR code of a ZeroPay affiliated store through a smartphone simple payment app and entering the amount, or by presenting the QR code generated on the smartphone to the store, where the store’s reader scans the QR code.
Usable stores include about 12,000 ZeroPay affiliated stores located in Gangseo-gu, such as restaurants, beauty salons, pharmacies, and convenience stores. However, the gift certificates can only be used at ZeroPay affiliated stores within the district and cannot be used at large marts like E-Mart and Lotte Mart or in luxury and entertainment industries, in line with the purpose of supporting small business owners.
In particular, residents using the gift certificates receive a 30% income deduction benefit during year-end tax settlement (80% until the end of July), and affiliated stores have no merchant fees linked with ZeroPay and also receive tax benefits for small business owners, making it extremely attractive.
