The Tongyeong Maritime Police in Gyeongnam announced on the 13th that Sergeant A (46), who was caught illegally filming in a women's restroom, has been suspended from duty and an internal investigation has begun.
Sergeant A is accused of entering a stall in a women's restroom at a university in Jinju, Gyeongnam, around 9:40 a.m. on the 9th and secretly filming a woman in the adjacent stall with his cellphone.
Sergeant A placed his cellphone above the restroom stall to film, but when the woman noticed and screamed, he fled the scene. However, he was apprehended by the police on the same day.
The police have booked Sergeant A on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, including filming using a camera.
