Gwangju Dong-gu Implements Resident Reporting System for Illegal Parking in Child Protection Zones
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 13th that it will implement a resident reporting system for illegally parked vehicles around 11 elementary schools, including Jangwon Elementary School in the district.
The resident reporting system is a system that allows reporting of illegally parked vehicles around areas such as ▲road corners ▲fire hydrants ▲bus stops ▲crosswalks through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Safe Report' app.
This is part of the recently strengthened safety measures within child protection zones and will be implemented by adding child protection zones to the existing four major illegal parking prohibition zones.
The sections where the resident reporting system will be implemented are the roads around the main gates of 11 elementary schools in the district, with a grace period for enforcement until the 2nd of next month, during which active promotional activities such as banner announcements will be conducted.
Traffic facilities will be promoted through methods such as installing no parking and towing zone signs at 105 locations and lane painting. By installing traffic facilities, the early establishment of the resident reporting system will be encouraged, and a safe traffic environment will be created for pedestrians, including children and other vulnerable groups.
