Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station Promotes 'Amendments to Self-Inspection Related Laws'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station (Chief Choi Jeongsik) has actively started promoting the amendments to the self-inspection related laws and regulations, which will take effect from the 14th of next month.
According to Dongbu Fire Station on the 13th, fire facility self-inspections are divided into operational function inspections and comprehensive precision inspections.
Operational function inspections artificially operate fire facilities to verify whether they function normally.
Comprehensive precision inspections include operational function inspections and check whether the facilities meet the standards set by related laws such as fire safety standards and the Building Act.
According to the amendment of the "Enforcement Rules of the Act on Fire Prevention, Installation, Maintenance, and Safety Management of Fire Facilities," from the 14th of next month, the scope of comprehensive precision inspections for specific fire safety objects will be expanded, and the submission deadline for self-inspection result reports will be shortened.
The scope of comprehensive precision inspections will be expanded from specific fire safety objects with sprinkler systems installed on a total floor area of 5,000㎡ or more to all objects with sprinkler systems installed regardless of area. Also, the submission deadline for fire facility self-inspection result reports will be shortened from the existing 30 days to 7 days.
