Lotte Shares 'Non-Face-to-Face Lecture Know-How' for the Post-Corona Era Externally
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Lotte Group has decided to compile and share externally the know-how of non-face-to-face video (real-time online) lectures that have been useful during the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation.
Lotte Human Resources Development Institute announced on the 13th that it has published a non-face-to-face lecture manual titled 'Facilitation Guide for Effective Video Lectures.' Judging that the demand for online education is a long-term trend, they planned to publish a practical book for systematic curriculum preparation.
To this end, since May, they researched various books and papers related to video lectures and applied the findings to the 'New Employee Takeoff Course,' reflecting feedback from 546 learners. Afterwards, the content was supplemented and organized into an easy-to-read book format.
The manual introduces the concept and effectiveness of video lectures and includes important considerations for lecture design. It covers teaching methods suitable for each stage and situation such as lecture preparation, delivery, and conclusion, as well as the usage and detailed functions of video lecture systems. It also contains nine principles that learners, instructors, and talent development managers should follow for successful non-face-to-face lectures.
Lotte Human Resources Development Institute plans to publish 600 copies of the video lecture manual and distribute them not only to talent development managers of Lotte affiliates but also to other companies' human resources development institutes, universities, and educational institutions. Additionally, they plan to share their know-how upon request from companies or institutions struggling with the transition to online lectures.

Jeon Young-min, head of Lotte Human Resources Development Institute, said, “There is an emerging need to quickly respond to the changing paradigm of talent development. As interest in online lectures, once considered a supplementary method, is increasing due to the advancement of non-face-to-face technology and the spread of untact culture, we will develop the manual to be used as an effective learning tool and apply it in the field.”
