Eunpyeong-gu Youth Participation Committee Begins Activities in 2020
Selection of Agendas by Field: Culture, Career, Environment, and Human Rights
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) held an orientation for the ‘9th Youth Participation Committee’ to activate youth participation, officially starting activities for 2020.
The Youth Participation Committee, which has been operating annually since 2011 to actively gather youth opinions in the establishment of youth-related policies in Eunpyeong-gu and to enhance the effectiveness of youth policies and promote their rights, is now in its 9th term.
The committee, consisting of a total of 45 members and mentors, plans to directly plan and promote youth proposal projects in Eunpyeong-gu.
At the orientation and sector-specific public forums held on May 23, various ideas were presented in each sector (culture, career, environment, human rights), and through online meetings held recently, agendas for each sector were selected.

The sector-specific agendas will be finalized through an internal online voting process running until July 10 to decide the projects to be promoted this year. To prevent COVID-19, activities such as youth policy proposals and participation in various discussions will be conducted mainly through non-face-to-face regular (temporary) meetings.
