Director Jeong In-bong of 'Gil' Dies While Hiking Cheonggyesan Mountain
Director Jeong In-bong, who directed films such as "Gil (2016)" and "Sunae (2017)," passed away on the 12th.
On that day, Director Jeong lost consciousness and collapsed while hiking on Cheonggye Mountain in Seoul. The Seocho Fire Station responded to a report around 9:45 a.m., but he was already without breathing and pulse. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was performed, and he was airlifted by helicopter to a nearby hospital, but he was pronounced dead around 11:20 a.m. The police are investigating the exact cause of Director Jeong's death.

Born in 1968, Director Jeong graduated from Chung-Ang University with a degree in Business Administration. He entered the film industry in 2007 with the production of "Waiting to Go Crazy" and directed works such as "Sunae," "Gil," and "History of Jealousy (2018)." He garnered much empathy by weaving the lives and concerns of the elderly into a single theme. The funeral is being held in Room 2 of the Police Hospital Funeral Hall, with the funeral service scheduled for 2 p.m. on the 14th.
