At around 3:29 a.m. that day, a fire broke out at a pig barn in Geumho-myeon, Yeongcheon City, and was extinguished within about 20 minutes. The fire damaged two pig barns totaling 198㎡ and about 800 pigs, causing property damage estimated at 195 million KRW (according to the fire department).
Earlier, at 1:02 a.m., a fire occurred at a poultry farm in Bukan-myeon. The fire completely destroyed two poultry houses totaling 660㎡ and a solar power facility, resulting in the death of approximately 56,000 chicks. The property damage is estimated at 176 million KRW (according to the fire department).
