The Memorial Altar for the Late Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon Installed at Seoul Plaza ... Open Until 10 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 11th that it has set up a memorial altar for the late Park Won-soon, former Mayor of Seoul, at Seoul Plaza and will operate it until the 13th.
The general public began paying their respects from 11 a.m. on the same day, and the altar is scheduled to be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. over the weekend.
The city explained that the memorial altar was modestly prepared reflecting the wishes of the deceased and the bereaved family. The altar measures 9 meters wide and 3 meters long, decorated with 9,500 flowers, and wreaths and condolence flags are not accepted separately.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, visitors to the altar must maintain sufficient distance as guided by staff, undergo temperature checks and hand sanitization before entering, and those not wearing masks will be denied entry.
