Seongbuk District Residents' Gathering 'Wolgok1-dong Eoullim' Produces and Shares Eco-Friendly Food
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) Wolgok 1-dong Saemaeul Library (President Joo So-young) members, who are the main participants of the resident group ‘Wolgok 1-dong Eoullim,’ held the event ‘Sharing Healthy Food with Neighbors’ on the 9th.
This event was planned to share information about eco-friendly eating habits with a professional dietary education instructor and residents, and to make seasonal fruit preserves to share with neighbors in the local community.
On the day, residents personally delivered 15 bottles of carefully made eco-friendly lemon syrup along with various fruit syrups to elderly residents living alone in the area.
Wolgok 1-dong is planning another event in September to make eco-friendly food and share it with neighbors.
Resident Joo (43), who participated in the event, said, “It was a great experience to make fruit syrup with eco-friendly healthy food that I had only heard about before, and I am happy to have spent a meaningful time sharing the syrup I made with the elderly.”
