Beijing Reports Zero New COVID-19 Cases for 5 Consecutive Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] No new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Beijing, China for the fifth consecutive day.
On the 11th, the National Health Commission of China announced that 2 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed nationwide on the 10th, with no deaths reported. All new cases were imported from overseas. The number of asymptomatic infections, which the Chinese government does not include in the official COVID-19 case statistics, increased by 4.
The number of new cases in Beijing has remained at zero for five consecutive days since the 6th. The cumulative number of cases from cluster infections remains at 335.
Since the first cluster infection case was reported at the Xinfadi Market on the 11th of last month, new cases surged. However, the number of new cases has decreased to 1-2 per day this month, and no additional cases have been reported recently.
