CJ Olive Young, 'Malala Day' Commemorative Campaign Promoting Girls' Education
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] CJ Olive Young announced on the 10th that it will carry out the ‘UNESCO Girls' Education Campaign’ until July 16 in commemoration of ‘Malala Day’ on July 12.
Malala Day is a commemorative day designated by the United Nations in 2014 to raise awareness of girls' education issues in honor of Malala Yousafzai, the youngest female human rights activist to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
Since 2014, CJ Olive Young has partnered with UNESCO to run a girls' education campaign to provide educational opportunities to girls in developing countries. Through this, it helps girls pioneer their own lives and grow as members of society. Since 2018, as part of commemorating Malala Day, which overcomes harsh environments and delivers messages of hope to many, various sharing activities have been carried out.
During this campaign period, CJ Olive Young will promote Malala Day and present content emphasizing the importance of the campaign through its official Instagram and Facebook. Along with this, a comment event will be held where customers can directly participate and send messages of support to girls in developing countries. A certain amount will be donated to UNESCO for each participant, and CJ gift certificates will be awarded through a draw.
A CJ Olive Young official stated, “To mark Malala Day, we planned a campaign through online channels so that customers can more easily participate in sharing,” and added, “We will actively spread a culture where small daily actions come together to create great value in sharing.”
