Gyeonggi Office of Education Announces 157 Successful Candidates for Education Specialist Positions
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced the final list of successful candidates for education specialist positions on the 9th.
The final successful candidates include ▲General track 137 people (13 in early childhood, 53 in elementary, 69 in secondary, 2 in special education) ▲Rotation track 20 people (8 in Innovation Education, 7 in School Violence, 1 in Mongsil School, 4 in institutions and education-related centers), totaling 157 people.
This selection process first evaluated peer staff work performance, teaching and general knowledge, curriculum, and policy essay subjects in May, selecting 2 to 3 times the number of candidates per field. Then, on the 27th of last month, policy discussion and debate, planning presentation, and interviews were conducted to determine the final successful candidates.
The candidates for education specialist positions at the Gyeonggi Office of Education were selected focusing on job competencies that support various field situations and student growth while looking toward Gyeonggi education and future schools.
In particular, curriculum and planning presentation/interview were conducted for the first time in this selection. The curriculum evaluation did not simply assess teaching expertise but verified the support capabilities for the overall operation of the unit school curriculum as an education specialist.
Also, the planning presentation/interview comprehensively evaluated the professionalism, character, and educational philosophy of the candidates by creatively planning and directly proposing and presenting the direction of Gyeonggi Innovation Education.
Kim Tae-seong, Director of Teacher Policy at the Gyeonggi Office of Education, said, "We selected teachers who demonstrated collegiality and collective intelligence at schools and supported students' true learning and growth as education specialists," adding, "We will continue to select teachers who faithfully perform their original duties at schools as education specialists."
