Gimhae High School Teacher Caught Installing Hidden Camera in Girls' Restroom... Other Videos Found on Phone
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jucheol In] A current teacher at a high school in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, has been booked by the police on suspicion of installing a hidden camera in the girls' restroom at the school.
On the 9th, according to the Gimhae Jungbu Police Station in Gyeongnam, the police booked a teacher in his 40s, Mr. A, without detention on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.
The hidden camera installed by Mr. A in the restroom was discovered by the school staff, who then reported it to the police.
The police secured evidence such as closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage within the school. The hidden camera was installed in a way that it filmed through a hole in the wall next to the restroom.
Mr. A reportedly told the police, "The hidden camera was installed at the end of last month, and since the school staff discovered it on the same day, the filming period was only one day."
The police are investigating whether Mr. A actually installed the hidden camera on the day it was reported and are examining other hidden camera videos found on the mobile phone seized from the teacher to determine if he personally recorded them.
