SK Construction Launches Disabled Athletes Teams in Table Tennis, Fencing, Taekwondo, and Cycling

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] SK Engineering & Construction is promoting the revitalization of sports for people with disabilities by launching a sports team for disabled athletes.
On the 8th, SK Engineering & Construction announced on the 9th that it signed a business agreement with the Seoul Disabled Sports Association on "Promotion of Employment for Disabled Athletes and Establishment of an Organic Cooperation System" and held a team launching ceremony at Olympic Parktel in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
The event was attended by about 40 people, including 16 disabled athletes from SK Engineering & Construction, Lim Young-moon, President of SK Engineering & Construction, Park Jong-su, Head of HR Group at SK Engineering & Construction, Kim Jong-deok, Vice Chairman of the Seoul Disabled Sports Association, Kim Tae-yang, Director of the Seoul Eastern Branch of the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled, and officials from the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
The newly launched SK Engineering & Construction disabled sports team consists of 16 athletes divided into four sports: 5 in table tennis, 4 in fencing, 4 in taekwondo, and 3 in cycling. SK Engineering & Construction selected the athletes through interviews and other procedures after receiving a list of recommended athletes from the Seoul Disabled Sports Association. The team secured a strong roster ranging from gold medalists at the National Disabled Sports Festival to promising newcomers.
Going forward, the disabled athletes will participate in various domestic and international competitions, including the National Disabled Sports Festival and World Championships, as members of SK Engineering & Construction. SK Engineering & Construction plans to support the athletes to ensure their stable livelihood so they can focus solely on training. The Seoul Disabled Sports Association will also actively support improving athletes' performance and participation in competitions by creating a stable training environment.
