KPC Recruiting Participants for Science Culture Professional Training Program
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Productivity Center (KPC, Chairman Noh Gyu-seong) announced on the 8th that it has been selected as the executing institution for the "Science Convergence Lecturer Training Course" program, part of the 2020 Science Culture Professional Workforce Training Program, and is recruiting the first round of participants for the course until the 17th.
Hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, the Science Culture Professional Workforce Training Program aims to systematically train professionals in five occupations within the science culture field to discover new areas of the science culture industry and foster new growth engines, thereby creating quality jobs. The training fields include science convergence lecturers, science cartoonists, science storytellers, science writers, and science creators.
The "Science Convergence Lecturer Training Course," operated by the Korea Productivity Center, is designed to train science professionals who communicate with the public on science topics, aiming to enhance the public's understanding and interest in science. A science convergence lecturer refers to a speaker who creatively communicates by integrating the latest scientific content with humanities. This course will provide basic literacy education for communicating science to the public, along with core competency enhancement training, practical exercises, and customized mentoring to improve professionalism as a lecturer.

The training course is offered free of charge, and through the course, participants will be supported in developing at least one science culture lecture content individually to enable future activities as science convergence lecturers. Anyone interested in science lectures and wishing to plan and operate public lectures on science and technology topics can apply. Participants will be selected through document screening and interviews, and the training will be conducted over three months from August to October.
