One Additional COVID-19 Case Reported in Gwangju... Infection Route Under Investigation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] One more COVID-19 case has been confirmed in Gwangju. As of now, the total number of confirmed cases has increased to 117.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 6th, a woman in her 40s, Ms. A, residing in Mudeungsan Greenwell Rosebiang Apartment in Sansu-dong, Dong-gu, tested positive for COVID-19 in the afternoon.
The confirmed movements so far show that on the 1st and 2nd, she used the reading room at Dong-gu Gosi Academy (Yesul-gil 31-16, 4th floor) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.
Also, on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, she visited Yeongam Mart Green Sansu Branch (Sansu-dong) for about 30 minutes from 5 p.m. Starting from the 3rd, when symptoms appeared, she also visited Baekrim Pharmacy in Punghyang-dong, Buk-gu on the 4th.
Ms. A has been classified as Gwangju case number 117 and was admitted to Gangjin Medical Center.
Health authorities are conducting epidemiological investigations to identify Ms. A’s infection route, additional movements, and contacts.
Meanwhile, in the Gwangju area, 84 confirmed cases have occurred from the 27th of last month to the present (as of 6:30 p.m. today).
By age group, there are 2 under 10 years old, 1 teenager, 2 in their 20s, 8 in their 30s, 8 in their 40s, 20 in their 50s, 24 in their 60s, 13 in their 70s, 2 in their 80s, and 4 in their 90s.
