At the meeting, political figures including National Assembly member Kang Ki-yoon and Gyeongnam Provincial Council member Kim Kyung-young, as well as university officials, attended. The participants discussed major issues such as the establishment of Changwon National University Public Medical School and the creation of a startup and venture town.
Representative Kang said, “The issue of establishing the Changwon National University Medical School, which has been pursued for over 20 years, is now fully justified and necessary amid the prolonged COVID-19 situation,” adding, “If the university members, alumni, and local community unite their efforts, the medical school will be established, and the local political circles will also take an interest in and support the university’s growth.”

Changwon National University President Lee Ho-young stated, “I deeply appreciate the alumni members of the National Assembly from Changwon National University who are working hard for regional and national development,” and added, “As the only national university in Changwon City, which has a population of over one million, we will promptly advance various issues including the establishment of the medical school.”
